Overview

Left Field Labs is hiring a Sustainability Technology Product Manager to join our Sustainability team, where you will work on innovative projects for one of the largest technology companies in the world.

We are seeking a product-focused strategist with a deep understanding of corporate sustainability processes and practices. You will help us build the tools that support both emissions reporting and decarbonization, and the necessary historical tracking, forecasting and scenario modeling to help operationalize impact. As a product manager on the team, your super power will be to transform complex climate data and regulatory needs into intuitive, AI-driven solutions that empower our users to move beyond mere reporting and into measurable carbon reduction.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

In this critical strategic role, your influence goes beyond basic requirements management. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between deep sustainability subject matter expertise and technical application development.

  • Deeply Understand the Landscape: Meet with diverse stakeholder teams to map out the existing carbon accounting and reductions processes—including standards followed, systems/tools utilized, and integration methods—to pinpoint the most significant pain points and opportunities.
  • Drive Solution Ideation: Own the ideation process, working closely with client-side sustainability leaders and engineering leaders. This involves evaluating where our engineering team can make the biggest impact and establishing a clear product vision.
  • Technical Partnership: Work closely with our Engineering and Program Management teams to plan precise data flows and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring that technical dependencies regarding climate data are fully accounted for in the delivery schedule.
  • Proactive Planning & Advisement: Move beyond reactive execution by proactively using your industry knowledge to identify gaps in the solution and process architecture before they become blockers.
  • Requirements Translation: Translate high-level sustainability goals and complex carbon accounting requirements (Scope 1, 2, & 3) into detailed product requirements for the development team.
  • Integrate AI: Define and incorporate strategies for AI within the product and roadmap, improving overall process, automation, user experience and insights.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Manage high-level communication with client stakeholders. You will drive clarity by asking precise, domain-specific questions that uncover hidden requirements regarding emissions factors and reporting standards.

Qualifications

What You Will Need to be Successful

We are looking for a highly organized professional with exceptional communication skills who can interrogate data sources to ensure input requirements match the desired reporting outputs.

  • Domain Expertise (Carbon Accounting): Hands-on experience with Carbon Accounting, possessing a deep understanding of how large enterprises or government agencies report emissions (GHG Protocol, Scope 1, 2, & 3) and the data challenges associated with it.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum 3+ years of direct exposure to Sustainability projects, specifically involving data collection, cleaning, and reporting.
  • Technical Product Fluency: Experience working within software development teams as a Product Manager or TPM, with deep expertise in solution design, product strategy and user experience.
  • Client Management: Experience in a client-facing or consulting capacity, managing expectations and requirements for external stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with Technical Team: The ability to explain carbon accounting nuances to engineers, working closely with the technology lead to align on the feasibility of solutions.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $110,000 to $155,000 and applies only to jobs performed in Culver City, California.
