Who We Are SeekingWe’re looking for a Technical Lead with deep WordPress experience to own the site architecture and build process from start to finish. You’ll make key technical decisions, manage execution, and ensure every piece of code meets high standards for performance, security, and scalability. This project is highly visual and design-driven. You will work closely with the creative team to bring polished, component-based layouts to life with pixel-perfect precision and smooth, modern interactions. This role suits a hands-on engineer who enjoys building elegant systems and guiding teams toward best practices.
What You Will DoLead the technical planning, architecture, and execution of a new, design-forward WordPress website.Translate creative and functional requirements into technical solutions and development tasks.Write clear tickets, estimate work, and ensure the dev team stays aligned and on schedule.Conduct code reviews and enforce high standards for performance, maintainability, and accessibility.Collaborate closely with designers, producers, and clients to ensure design fidelity and technical feasibility.Oversee setup, deployment, and content migration workflows.Troubleshoot issues and guide the team toward scalable, sustainable solutions.What You Will Need to be Successful
Experience: 8+ years in full-stack web development, including leadership on WordPress-based projects.
Wordpress Expertise: Strong command of modern WordPress development including custom themes, plugins, and block-based architectures (Gutenberg or ACF).
Architecture & Implementation: Proven ability to plan and implement scalable WordPress builds, both traditional and headless.
Project Ownership: Proven ability to plan sprints, estimate workloads, write tickets and manage developer output.
Teamwork: Works comfortably within a cross-functional team of designers, strategists, and content creators.
Front-End Skills: Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (React or Vue experience preferred), with a focus on bringing design systems to life.
Best Practices: Solid understanding of accessibility, performance optimization, and security fundamentals.
Tooling: Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment practices (e.g., WP Engine, Pantheon, or custom cloud setups).
Compensation
The hourly range for this role is $90.00 - $110.00 and applies only to jobs performed in Culver City, California. This range represents the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Please note that we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
